New Paintings
Sep 20 - Oct 31, 1996
On Friday, September 20th, the George Adams Gallery will open an exhibition of new paintings by Peter Saul.
The paintings in the exhibition, all completed in 1996, cover a wide range of subject matter, including current affairs (OJ Simpson and Newt Gingerich), art history (the Mona Lisa, Dali and Duchamp), and even art criticism (a double portrait of Hilton Kramer and Peter Schjeldahl committing suicide). The exhibition also features Peter Saul's first still-life painting, one of his most animated compositions to date.
