Now on view at the Saint Louis Art Museum is Catching the Moment, a group exhibition celebrating the museum's acquisition of 833 works of contemporary art assembled by Ted L. and Maryanne Ellison Simmons.
For years, Ted L. and Maryanne Ellison Simmons collaboratively amassed a substantial collection of contemporary art, mainly prints and editioned works that provide a critique of broad social, political, and art historical issues. Certain artists, such as H. C. Westermann, Enrique Chagoya, Kiki Smith, and Tom Huck, are represented in-depth in the Simmons’s collection and significantly add to the Museum’s holdings. See the exhibition through September 11.
