Roy De Forest was an early and essential member of the art faculty at UC Davis, a post he held for thirty-six years. Printmaking was a means for De Forest to explore his visual vocabulary and experiment with colors and textures. This exhibition features a recent gift of prints from the artist’s estate and speaks to De Forest’s use of color and narrative, hallmarks of his work, as well as his dedication to the medium over the course of decades.
‘Habitats for Travelers’ is on view at the Manetti Shrem Museum through May 8, 2023.
