Robert Arneson: Astonishing Possibilities for Self-Expression is included in Galerie Magazine's list of six must-see shows in August.
Paul Laster asserts the exhibition emphasizes Arneson's influence on contemporary ceramics as a catalyst for the medium's recognition as fine art. In particular, he highlights Balderdash-dash from 1978 as revealing of how "the jocular artist employed humor to draw you into the remarkable craftsmanship of his wonderfully expressive art."
Following the exhibition's closure at the gallery this Friday, August 11, the works will travel to Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco, CA, for a second presentation from October 5-28.
