Joan Brown: In Living Color is on view from September 12 - November 11 at the Richmond Art Center in Richmond, California. The exhibition contains works on paper showcasing Brown's bold style that breaks the formalism in upholding narrative. Brown's main subject in her art was her life and experiences, and her work has continued to be influential to the artists of the Bay Area and beyond. Several of the works displayed are from her estate and have never been exhibited publicly.
