We’re pleased to see works by Enrique Chagoya included in ‘Refined Reflections into the Formidable: Contemporary Latino Art from the Zoe Diaz Collection,’ an exhibition currently on view at the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Russell Hill Rogers Galleries.

The exhibition features 23 artists whose works reflect themes of power and pride in cultural legacies, spirituality, family, and everyday life. Chagoya’s ‘The Enlightened Savage’ and ‘Pyramid Scheme’ each consist of ten multiples of “Cannibull’s Soup” cans functioning as a commentary on contemporary society. With names like "Curator’s Liver" and "Cream of Dealer," the former lampoons different aspects of the art world, while the latter, with names including “Mergers, Acquisitions, and Lentils" and "Ponzi Chowder (Manhattan Style)" does the same to the economy.

The exhibition will be on view through March 11, 2023. More information @utsaarts.
