Congratulations to Enrique Chagoya, the artist honoree of the San Jose Museum of Art’s 2023 Gala & Auction!
The museum has actively collected, exhibited, highlighted, and published Chagoya’s work for over three decades, ever since his inclusion in the 1997 Eureka Fellow Awards Exhibition. His large-scale charcoal and pastel drawing Their Freedom of Expression…The Recovery of Their Economy (1984) has been included in three exhibitions and is currently on view on its own in honor of the artist. We are thankful to SJMA for celebrating Enrique's work and presenting him with this honor. Bravo Enrique!
