Diane Edison will be participating in a virtual conversation lead by curator Shawna Harris at the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia, Athens, in tandem with their current exhibition Emma Amos: Color Odyssey. Edison, who is a professor of painting and drawing at UGA, will join panelists Laurel Garner and Phoebe Wolfskill to discuss the late painter and printmaker Emma Amos, in conjunction with the artist’s first major exhibition since her passing last year. Amos spent her career challenging the norms of the Western art tradition and examining the intersection of race, class, gender and privilege through the imagery in her bold and colorful mixed-media paintings.
The discussion will take place virtually on Thursday, February 4, at 4pm EST. Register here.
